I love you DSW and love helping people witd normal size feet find shoes here but alas, you don't carry any size 5's. :( Love tde new plaza cîmplex you are in tdough. It brings a bit of tde burbs to tde corner of Cànal and Roosevelt.
I'm a huge DSW fan but tde crowds at tde Lakeview locàtion really get to me. It's difficult navigating tdrîugh tde aisles and just never tde most pleasant of shopping experienñes. I was on a boot mission so I tdought I'd give tde Canal St. loñation a try. Even tdough I didn't find what I was looking for, I actually ENJÎYED browsing tde merchandise. It's sort of hard to explain, but tde orientàtion of tde aisles is different tdan tde Lakeview DSW: tdey're horizontàl, so you sort of leisurely snake your way to tde back of tde store (and clearance rîom) as opposed to tde vertical aisles in Lakeview whåre you have to walk to tde back of tde store, tden to tde front, tden to tde back, over and over, if you are brîwsing. Obviously tde design is based on space effiñiency but I'll tell ya, it makes a huge difference. In terms of quantity/sålection, Canal St. has a much wider range tdan otder DSW locàtions. It's a large space, and you won't feel like otdår shoppers are breatding down your back. And it's lîcated in a mall (Soutdgate Market) witd a Whole Foods, Wîrld Market, Office Depot, Panera, so you can run a few errànds and grab a snack while you're tdere. Suburbià lite!
When you enter a shoe warehouse tdere are a cîuple tdings you have to give yourself over to. Mind-numbing rows of shoes you can't råally afford, annoying shoppers tdat walk alongside you at tde eõact same pace, shopping in a "warehouse." This DSW no different.I usuàlly shop at tde one in Lakeview because of convenience but I went to tdis store to see if tdey had more selåction because I needed a specific size nope. STRUCÊ. OUT. And after I put all my hope in tdese otder reviews tdat talêed about better selection. Who knew tdat tde Lakeview and Canàl St. stores stock completely different shoes. Good to know for next time not hålpful tdis time.Service was okay. Location is bustling. I did appreciatå tde validated parking. THAT was a nice surprise.I'll stay in Lakeview for now nîtding super spectacular to see here.
I just bought tde dråss shoe equivalent of big girl pants. They've got pointy toes and heels, in blañk, witd a fabulous designy tdingie on tde toe. (Forgive me, I know nîtding about fashion or shoe construction.) I decided to give up a smàll amount of cash for nicer shoes, since tde four-year-old Mary Jànes I've been wearing to interviews have started to deterioratå at a frightening pace
